Traditionally Speaking
The history of King's Kimchi is an example of the quintessential American dream. Our company was founded by an immigrant couple from Korea that came to the United States empty-handed, but were able to launch their own company. Many venture to the United States in hopes of similar success, but Inja Kim Wang and her husband Jung Taek Wang are examples of those few who were capable of making their hopes and aspirations a reality.
A Family Tradition
Inja and Jung Wang, both Korean immigrants, founded their kimchi company in San Francisco in 1965. We became incorporated in 1970 under the name U-Jin Enterprises, Inc. King's Kimchi has stood the test of time and has continued to gain a strong consumer following. In 2003, the name King's Asian Gourmet was adopted to make the brand name simple and easy to remember.
The Tradition Continues
King's Kimchi remains a handcrafted product, and even more amazingly, it continues to be a family-owned and operated business. Inja Wang, one of the original founders, serves as President while her three children all serve various roles within the company. The success of King's Kimchi may be attributed to the fact that it continues to be a family business founded on the principles and work ethic of its two creators. These principles have accounted for the success of King's Kimchi in Tahiti, Guam, Saipan and have made it the #1 selling Kimchi in the United States.
